I am currently working on a number of new fantastic architectural photography projects, including the new buffet and Five 50 Pizza at Aria. Here is one of my favorite images that I shot at a home in Honolulu Hawaii earlier this month.
I spent the day photographing the Lijestrand house, designed by Vladimir Ossipoff in Honoulu. It is a wonderful example of midcentury modern architecture, that is basically untouched from how it was originally designed sixty years ago. The home has incredible views of the city below.
Las Vegas does have some great midcentury modern homes and architecture, mostly throughout the center of town and the Eastside. I really wish that some of the great older neighborhoods were kept up better and had less crime around and in them. I”m remembering the good ol’ days of Vegas, I guess.
I having been shooting homes and other Vegas architecture for many years, quietly building a library of images. It’s fun thing for me to shoot between commercial jobs. I’ll sometimes just jump the car and drive around town for hours, looking for a subject that speaks to me and some great light…
While on my way to a shoot this afternoon I drove by the abandoned Vantage Lofts project in Henderson. I had to stop and take some photographs.
I heard that the project was purchased by a developer who plans to finish the project. It would be a welcome addition to Las Vegas modern architecture.
